Welcome to La Ruche

La Ruche Bed & Breakfast is a 19th century traditional French house situated in the warm and friendly village of Chaillac in Indre, Central France. Our accommodation is open all year round and we offer five comfortable and traditionally furnished en-suite guest rooms.

Our Rooms

Room 1 - Double

Overlooking the village square, traditionally furnished with a double bed, desk and seating area and with en-suite shower room.

Room 2 - King

A beautiful room, traditionally furnished with a King Size bed, seating area, desk and a light and airy en-suite overlooking the garden.

Room 3 - King and Single

Our Twin room overlooks the garden and is traditionally furnished with a King size bed and small double bed and en-suite with views of the village church.

Room 4 - Double

A traditionally furnished twin room overlooking the village square, with chaise longue, desk and en-suite shower room with church views.

The Grange

The first floor Grange is separate from the main house, and accessed via our private garden entrance.

 

Our recently renovated grange is a large bedroom with a king size bed, desk area and has a mix of modern and traditional furnishing. The ensuite shower room has a walk in shower.

This room is suitable for 2 people.

Café

La Ruche café overlooks the village square and offers delicious freshly made cakes and home cooked lunches.

Opening hours:

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

- from 10am

- lunch served 12pm-2pm

Closed after lunch.

Friday - Closed.

A homecooked evening meal is often available Monday to Friday for guests of the B&B, only by reservation in advance

Saturday 8am-midday – for English breakfast.

Closed Sunday and Monday

Perfect for a week, overnight stay, or stopover en route between northern France and the Mediterranean, our La Ruche Chambres d’hotes, Chaillac is perfectly situated just a short drive from the A20 motorway and within an hour of 2 airports, Limoges and Poitiers.

A popular destination for visitors, Chaillac is a family friendly village in an unspoiled area of France with numerous attractions, lakes, forests and beautiful countryside including the stunning nature rich Brenne National Park, all close by.

​

There are many pretty medieval and market towns to discover locally including the beautiful St Benoit du Sault, Argenton-sur-Creuse, Montmorillon, La Souterraine and Chauvigny and the beautiful Chateau Guillaume is also just a short drive.

In Chaillac itself we have all you need for your break with museums, a leisure lake, bars, boulangerie, and other local amenities.
