Chaillac est parfaitement situé avec l’A20 à proximité (15 mn) et à 1 heure des aéroports de Limoges et Poitiers.
Chaillac est un village accueillant pour les familles qui a su garder son authenticité avec de nombreuses attractions, plans d’eau, forêt et campagnes – ne serait-ce qu’avec l’étonnant parc Naturel de la Brenne à proximité.
La Ruche est à quelques minutes à pied du Lac de Rochegaudon, parfait pour une marche, une partie de pêche et une balade à vélo. L’été est une saison privilégiée pour vous rendre au lac et vous amuser en famille avec sa plage et son terrain de jeu. La baignade est surveillée et un restaurant ainsi qu’un bar sont ouvert tous les jours.
Des activités sont régulièrement proposées à Chaillac et nombre d’entres-elles se déroulent sur la place du village. Chaque 29 du mois, le marché local Les Herolles vaut le coup d’être visité.
Il y a tant de places à voir et à faire aux alentours. Nous nous sommes attachés à les essayer nous-même autant que faire se peut afin de vous aider lors de votre séjour que vous vouliez voir les singes de la Vallée des Singes ou que vous vouliez trouver de magnifiques endroits pour ballade ensoleillée dans villages. St Benoit du Sault
Awarded status as one of the most beautiful villages in France, this medieval settlement was built on a granite rock around a Benedictine priory and overlooks the river. Enjoy a charming stroll through the cobbled streets to discover the 15th and 16th century houses and pretty church and through the surrounding countryside for beautiful views. This is a real local gem.
Chateau Guillaume
This local chateau was founded by William X, Count of Poitou and Duke of Aquitaine. The eleventh century Romanesque tower was extended in the thirteenth century and restored in the nineteenth by the Countess of Beauchamp, ancestor of the current owners.
Montmorillon
With its beautiful medieval quarter, churches and numerous book and writing shops, the Cite de l’Ecrit, Montmorillon is certainly worth a look.
Take a stroll through the streets of the old town , browse in the many book stores then take a coffee by the river for a pleasant place to visit during your stay.
Argenton-sur-Creuse
As the name suggests, this lovely town sits on the River Creuse which is crossed by two bridges, and its banks are bordered by picturesque old houses.. The town is crowned by the beautiful Bonne Dame and with its cafes and river walks Argenton is a lovely place to spend a few hours.
Gargilesse
Gargilesse – another of the most beautiful villages in France, the small and charming village of Gargilesse was once home to George Sand and has played host to many painters, charmed by the romantic sight of its steeply-roofed houses, clustered around the Romanesque church.
Parc Naturel de la Brenne
The Brenne National Park – This beautiful and extraordinary vast wildlife reserve is home to many rare species and a thousand lakes and is a superb place to visit for wildlife enthusiasts, walkers, cyclists and anglers. Check out parc-naturel-brenne.fr for more information.
